QHow long does the Permanent Residence examination take?

Under current Immigration guidelines, the examination generally takes between 6 to 12 months. If your current visa expires while the PR application is pending, you must renew your current status in parallel.

QWill late payments of pension or health insurance cause a denial?

Yes. In recent years, Immigration enforces strict rules requiring that all public pension and health insurance premiums were paid by their exact due dates. Even a one-day delay can result in a denial. We will audit your records to verify if your payment history is currently eligible.

QWhat is the minimum annual income requirement?

For applicants on work visas, an annual income of at least 3 million yen continuously for the past 5 years is the general guideline for a single applicant. For each dependent family member, an additional 700,000 to 800,000 yen is typically expected.
